As a company that believes in full transparency, step one of any project will always be a one-on-one consultation with the client to discuss any questions or ideas both parties may have. After this initial meeting, the client can expect a swift concept model of the ideas expressed in the consultation. It is important to note that a concept model is a quick and unpolished work that is solely meant to give the client an idea of how their ideas will play out in the final design. This is done so that the client may cost-effectively make final suggestions before the real work begins.
After this, Mercer Designs will immediately begin designing your home from the foundation up. Once the final design has been fully developed, The client will receive what is known as an “approval package.” An approval package will consist of several photo-realistic images of your home as well as the floorplan(s) of your home. This allows the client to know EXACTLY how their home will look and feel before it is ever built. At this stage, the client may request any minor COSMETIC finishes they want including but not limited to exterior cladding, interior cladding, flooring, fixture placements, countertops, doors, paint color, etc.
With the client’s permission, Mercer Designs will then draft construction drawings that will be used to construct the residence. Mercer Designs prides itself on quality of work in an efficient manner. Every 3D design is true-to-scale and completely parametric. This means every aspect of the model from the foundation to the roof is 100% accurate to the final constructed home. This also allows Mercer Designs to provide the client with an extremely accurate bill of materials since every stud, board, and nail is tracked through various software. Not only does this save time and energy, but it saves the client countless dollars in build-related costs often associated with inaccurate/ unclear construction plans. Given the model is parametric, it also allows for a seamless transition from a digital model to the final construction drawings.

I particularly enjoy combining rustic styles with modern finishes. I draw inspiration from the Prairie School of Frank Lloyd Wright. I am, however, interested in many styles ranging from avant-garde to modest cottages.
Product turn-around differs from project to project. I cannot give you an exact estimate without a consultation first. Contact me and let's discuss it!
In the beginning stages of development leading up to and after the concept model, feel free to make any changes and/ or requests you would like! However, in later stages of development such as the pre-approval package review, significant changes to square footage and floorplan arrangement can result in delays and complications, though you can make any cosmetic changes you wish!
If unexpectedly you decide you no longer want to continue with the project, no worries! We know that life can be unpredictable and we will save your project until you are ready to continue its development. For other questions regarding this matter, please reach out to me at your earliest convenience.
